Comedy - OVA 10m
The first of several short programs for this month. This one was played specifically for this month, with it's creepy and supernatural theme.
A young girl, hoping to save her village and family from the encroaching English army, runs into the Black Forest in order to engage the services of a legendary swordsman who resides within. There is a reason this person is legendary, and his prowess with a sword is only a small part of it. [gdh]
Nekojiru Gekijou - Episodes 1-2 2m
No, the rating is not in error, though the animation is presented in a form that would normally be expected for very young children, the content is often intentionally violent and disturbing.
By the same people who brought you "Cat Soup," these shorts revolve around the lives of a small family of cats. The first episodes deal with bigotry and playground fighting. [gdh]
Weiss Survive - Episode 1 3m
You've seen it before with many anime, but here it is revisioned as short episodes, and based on the card game "WeiƟ Schwarz."
Takeshi and Mishi are at an abandoned library at night, so Mishi can help him pass his school tests. This is all secretive so rumors don't get spread at school. When Takeshi discovers that Mishi plays a trading card game, he starts to ask her why, but her cards suddenly take on a life of their own. [gdh]
Miscellaneous Television Commercials
Another assortment of humorous advertisements, most starring American movie stars. We showed two more of the Alien "Jone" series, another featuring Nicholas Cage acting wild, Arnold Scwarzenegger in his usual energy drink insanity, and another in the Fanta soda series. [gdh]
