| For our members and the parents of our younger members, we have instituted a rating system for the programs we show. In the interest of simplicity and familiarity, we have decided to informally adopt the US TV Parental Guidelines system… The system used with most television programs in the United States.
For details on this system, go here.
Of course, since our programming is anime, the TV-Y7-FV rating is completely redundant (all violence is fantasy), and therefore ignored.
D2AC will not show explicit material (hentai, etc.). Any shows that would normally be rated NC-17 or X in the US, would fall under this category.
However, be aware that many things on Japanese television are stronger than their respective genres in the United States, since, in general, the Japanese do not believe in hiding the reality of the world. Therefore, a series that deals with war, may have several graphic and bloody scenes (as opposed to the stupid idea where they have digitally erased blood in those series, here). The Japanese also do not have as big a taboo about nudity, so there may be scenes of non-offensive nudity in some programs. An example would be if a couple of the characters are having a conversation in a public bath-house, a location, which in Japanese culture is a place of socialization, and such a scene is part of many people's daily life.
